The exterior bears the insignia of the House, while the reverse identifies the composition. The result is deliberately restrained: walnut, engraving, mechanism, melody.
It is an object intended not merely to play music, but to give the composition a physical body.
Each music box is presented in an Ab Aeterno shoulder rigid presentation box in the colours of the House, finished with a blind-debossed House seal. Within, the walnut music box rests securely in a fitted recessed insert alongside a numbered provenance card and a folded introduction to the museum and research archive connected to the House.

Ab Aeterno is connected to an independent American not-for-profit museum and research archive, separately operated from the House.
Its collections span the sixteenth through twentieth centuries, bringing together books, manuscripts, maps, rare scientific instruments, correspondence, works of art, devotional objects, and material culture.
Its educational work particularly preserves and teaches three practical disciplines:
Penmanship. Draughtsmanship. Mapmaking.
Through these programmes, the archive preserves not only historical objects and records, but also the practical skills used to observe, measure, draw, correspond, and interpret the world.
Further information about the archive, its collections, and its educational work is enclosed with each music box—including, for the first time, the identity of the House’s other founder.

Walnut is a natural material and will vary slightly in grain and tone from piece to piece.
Keep the music box dry and away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive humidity, and extreme temperatures.
Dust gently with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Do not immerse the box or introduce liquids, oils, or cleaning agents into the mechanical movement.
Wind the mechanism gently and stop when resistance is felt. Do not force the winding key beyond its natural stopping point.
